The good life mingles gracious taking with cheerful giving, and the main value is in the giving. It is our giving that is recorded in the Book of Life. Jesus is the Great Giver in order that we may have life and have it to the full (Jn 10:10.)
In today's Gospel Jesus says in effect, “Give from the heart.” The widow’s offering to the Temple seemed small to other donors, but it was priceless in value. Nobody is so poor that they have nothing to share; even the most poor have great gifts to share. Most of the time generosity is more widespread among those who have little to spare; it doesn’t matter how much, but what is important is the measure of love you put in your offering and the intention of your soul to please God rather than winning credit or praise from others. What we really want and need is the eternal reward in heaven for those who are cheerful givers (2 Cor 9;6-7); the treasure we share here is our treasure in heaven; what we really possess forever is what we have shared in love and charity.
I thank you for your crucial support and enormous generosity for our great parish of Christ the King. I know that God is working in you and through you.
May the Lord, as he promised, reward you with eternal graces and blessings. May the Blessed Mother keep us in her love & protection.
