We are nourishing our soul with the Gospel of John, and that message is centered in "Jesus, the bread of life.” For our part we have to believe. It is Jesus himself who is speaking to us and teaching us one of the greatest truths of salvation. Here, the emphasis is placed on the Faith-acceptance of the teaching of Jesus.
He is the Bread of Life only for those who “come” to and “believe” in Him. Jesus offered to satisfy the spiritual hunger of the people gathered around, and this only happens when we truly accept and believe in his real presence.
Let us nourish our souls with this Heavenly manna and carry Jesus to our homes and workplaces, radiating Jesus’ love, mercy and compassion all around us. Let us ask our Lord, “Sir, give us this Bread always,” and let us together as a community and family hear from Jesus the assurance, “Behold the Lamb of God. Behold the One who takes away the sins of the world.
Blessed are those who are called to the Supper of the Lamb.” Today for us believing and sharing in the Holy Communion of the Body and Blood of Jesus is receiving True Life and participating in God's Own Life.
What a great gift has been given to us: Jesus Himself as bread for us to believe and eat. Let us come and receive.
