This wonderful solemnity of Corpus Christi reminds us that our Lord comes to us in the Bread of Life, making himself a humble meal that lovingly heals our souls wounded by our sins and weakness. The Eucharist is the memorial of God’s love wherein the whole mystery of Christ’s passion, death and resurrection are remembered and celebrated. In this celebration we recall God’s love for us, offering his real presence in transforming the bread and wine into his Body and Blood. He becomes the food which gives us strength and support on our journey. The Eucharist is the living remembrance that comforts us with God’s love. The Eucharist encourages us; even on the roughest road we are not alone; the Lord does not forget us and whenever we turn to him, he restores us with his love.
The Eucharist is the sacrament of Unity: Jesus, the Bread, comes down from Heaven, calls us together to receive him and to share him with one another as one whole family in which we are real brothers and sisters, embracing and loving one another as members of the same body.
There is not a greater gift among us than Jesus himself. Let us trust, praise, and adore him when we receive his presence in the Sacrament of the Eucharist. And let us acclaim with the Universal Church and with our Blessed Mother, "O Sacrament most Holy, O Sacrament divine, All praise, and all thanksgiving be every moment thine."
May the Blessed Sacrament pour infinite blessings into your soul and family.
