Pentecost, Come Holy Spirit

I do really believe that the Holy Spirit is with us, and is working ceaselessly in this wonderful parish. This is a vibrant parish thanks to the power of the Spirit of God among us! Let us celebrate His presence in Christ the King Parish.

We confess with lively hearts that Jesus Christ died and is now risen. We just proclaimed last Thursday that he ascended into Heaven and where he goes, to the Glory of the Father, the Church will follow. Today we continue the celebration of God's redemption with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon all of us. What a gift from God's love! That is what Jesus did for us; now we have to ask ourselves what am I doing with this gift in my life? How is the Holy Spirit influencing me and transforming my whole existence? As the Blessed Virgin was attentive to the action of the Holy Spirit and opened herself to the will of God, we need to say, “Let it be done to me according to your Word.”

Keep in your mind that we are temples of the Holy Spirit; he abided in us since our baptism and we should live according to the gifts he brings us: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. And may our Christian lives produce his fruits: charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, and chastity.

May the Lord bless you, embrace you with the power of the Holy Spirit, and may the Blessed Mother protect you.
